Advice
We will start each week by watching one of the short videos from the web series, Humble Pied.
Studio Tours
We will have a number of studio visits this semester. On those days, we will meet at the location. You are responsible for arranging transportation. DO NOT BE LATE.
Be Responsible
Each of you will be doing something different: using different web platforms, creating different print solutions, etc. As such, you each must be responsible for your own timelines. Ex: if you are using Blurb to create a print portfolio, you need to be aware of production time. No excuses, no exceptions.
The Big Picture
You are creating a system. You need to think about all of the things, all of the time. Meaning, I have broken the semester down to provide an appropriate workflow (web, then print, etc), but you need to consider how your elements might be operating in all of the contexts.
Readings
We will have (almost) weekly readings. These are light and accessible, but I do want to hear your thoughts on them via your writing journal and in-class discussions. Additional suggested readings and resources will be posted above for those of you who want more knowledge. I will post useful things, so please take a look.
